As you may have noticed, the blog styling has had an overhaul. After a few questions/comments from friends, this entry provides all the details for configuring and posting images to your Typepad blog.
Here are all the details…
- First off, you have to login into your Typepad account.
- Start with your author profile. My profile is not done yet, but I can point you where to start. Select the Control Panel | Author Profile tab. Make changes are necessary. When done, click the Update Author Profile button. For more advanced display, select the Control Panel | About Page tab.
- The remaining changes are blog specific. Depending on your Typepad level, you can have more than one blog. Select the blog that you want to modify. Ideally, your blog should have a few entries so that you can see the modifications.
- Select the Configure tab and we will work through the settings. Whenever you save changes, you will see a Publish Site button appear near the top of the tab. You can choose to publish the site after every change or just wait until you have completed several changes.
- Notice that my Typepad blog has a header name and catchphrase. I decided to include a copyright tag as well. Select the Configure | Weblog Basics tab. Here you can entry the name of your blog and your catchphrase. For my catchphrase, I included HTML tags for style it further including the font color. Here are my settings.
- Weblog name: Dorothy Photo
- Weblog description/catchphrase: Dorothy Gantenbein Photography

- Click Save Changes button.
- Move onto the Configure | Archiving tab. Here you can decide what options work best for your blogging style. My selected choices are Monthly, Individual and Categories. Click Save Changes button when done.
- Move onto the Configure | Categories tab. Here you can add any additional categories to organize your entries. For my blog, I only use custom categories. Some of my categories are Digital Infrared, Just for Fun, etc. When done, click on the Save Changes button.
- Move onto the Configure | Publicity & Feeds tab. Here you can publicize your blog. For my blog, it is public, notifies external services and publishes the entire entry as a feed. I recommend that your publish feeds because they are a lot of nice blog readers that present newspaper results. When done, click on the Save Changes button.
- Move onto the Configure | Authors tab. Here you can define additional ‘junior’ authors. For my blog, I am the only author so I made no changes here. When done, click on the Save Changes button.
- Move onto the Configure | Preferences tab. Here you have a lot of choices. For my blog, kept all the defaults except that I upped the number of posts to display to 15 per page. When done, click on the Save Changes button.
- Go ahead and publish your site following all the pop-up windows. Take a look at the site by clicking of the View Weblog link.
