Tulip Display

I know that this one is tilted. I knelt down for the shot and must have cocked my head. I decided that I liked the slant.

Apple Blossom(?)

This small tree was blooming along the banks of the Merced River. I am not sure what type of tree but it looked like a fruit tree so I will guess an apple tree.

Merced River from Swinging Bridge

Another from my Yosemite visit. This view looks down the Merced River from Swinging Bridge. The bridge is misnomer because it is well anchored now. Most of these river shots were a disappointment because I did not capture the green of the water. You can see some of the green along the bottom but it was much more emerald in person.

Alameda Creek

Last nite, I went out to Sunol for a quick photo trip. Since I have not taken any infrared shots in a long time, I decided to try out a few. I realized that I am quite rusty with my ‘infrared’ seeing. All of a sudden, Sunol is very hot and summerlike and the light was too harsh. This is the best shot from the bunch.

El Capitan Meadow

This is the very soggy El Capitan Meadow. That is not a lake but a large puddle. Cathedral Rocks are on the right-hand side and Sentinal Rocks are somewhere in the middle. This is stitched HDR image.

Yosemite Yeti

Here is Chip taking in the atmosphere under Bridalveil Falls. It was wet and did I already say wet! I could actually hear the water ripping over the rocks. While watching the summer Olympics the announcers for diving talk about a rip entry but this is the first that I have heard it for myself.

Filoli Courtyard

This is a small patio at one end of the Filoli mansion. The house itself is 36000 sqaure feet. Lately, I have been experimenting with shooting into lighting conditions that I would have never attempted before. Again, I am processing the raw multiple times for shadows and highlights into a HDR image. Sometimes the results can look surreal but this one is pretty close to my visual memory.

Tenaya Creek

Another from Yosemite hiking upt o Mirror Lake. The water in the creek had this beautiful color and the rocks were very orange. It may appearthat the color is fiddled but it is accurate to that day.
