With the arrival of Bodie, Maizy has ascended her throne of queenliness. She has decided that she is the boss and must supervise everything that Bodie does. Lately, Maizy has not been interested in Chip or I. Even when we try to cuddle Maizy, her head is cocked and her eyes are tracking Bodie. Even when she is really mean to Bodie, she will follow up her behavior by kissing his face and ears.

This is another shot of Bodie. I liked his expression here even though there is an unfortunate blade of grass and not a great angle for Bodie. Somehow, Bodie has a Golden Lab’s feet, head and tail but only beagle-size legs and body. However, Bodie is a great little hunter.

Meet our new family member. His name is Bodie (originally Bates). We have classified him as a Beagle-Golden Labrador or Beaglador. He is very sweet and loves to cuddle. Maizy bullies him mercilessly but he puts up with her very, very patiently. This is his first walk and he was too excited to barely look at me.

This is the road for trucks to cross Alameda Creek. They cannot drive over the pedestrian bridge. This is the original of the image that I used to simulate a pinhole effect. See here.

Last nite, I visited Sunol again and visited the magic tree. I have tried many times to make an image of this wonderful tree. Of all my attempts, this is the best image so far. It is an infrared image shot at ISO 800 — so, it is a little grainy. However, I multiple processed the RAW file into a high-dynamic range image. This softened the highlights so they are not too ’glary’. Next, I lightened the shadows 3x on the tree trunk to balance the tonality. Finally, I downloaded a trial of the Photokit plugin for its B&W effects filter. I used a Platinum toning at 60% for the warm tone.

This is the third and final photographic style for my class assignment. I hope that you agree this is abstract/impressionistic.

This is my last abstract of the Sacramento Train Museum’s ceiling. Hopefully, you can see the train even though it is distorted.
