Fort Point

Saturday, we had a wonderful day, and I took time off from unpacking after remodeling the house. A group of us went to Fort Point, which is a Civil war era fort nestled under the Golden Gate Bridge. Had a very good time, but I have misplaced my full memory card and I am left with last dozen shots on the second card.

Lens Experiment

I recently bought a subscription to Reid Reviews. He had an excellent article on wide angle lenses for Canons. The current crop of Canon wide angles are ok but not great – plus, very expensive. So, I tried his suggestion for saving money. Instead, I bought a Zeiss Jena Flektogon 20mm lens (multi-coated) off of EBay for $250. Then, I bought the Haoda M42 adapter with auto-focus confirm and crossed my fingers. The lens works great and the adapter works great.

Now, I just have to figure how to compose with a 20mm lens!

Still Remodeling

We are reaching the end of the remodel. We are replacing our very worn out carpet with gorgeous bamboo flooring throughout the house. As part of that process, we are replacing and upgrading the interior doors. That is the holdup because we are still waiting on three doors. With any luck, we will be done at the end of this week. I went out today shooting for the first time in a month, and feel a bit rusty.
