Finally, I have my "purse cam" back from being repaired. I carry a Canon G9 around for all my city shots. A few weeks ago, the camera sucked in a huge dust spot on the sensor. After a little research, I found out that although the G9 is a fixed lens camera. It can suck in dust. Fortunately, it was still under warranty.
Unfortunately, Canon voided my warranty because there was a dent on the body. I was not aware of the dent, and it must have been cosmetic because the camera was functioning fine except for the giant dust spot. Given there was no way to fix the camera locally, I paid the $160 fee to get the camera cleaned. This is the first time that I have ever been dissatisfied with my Canon equipment.
