I have down for a few days. My laptop required major surgery with a new (much bigger) internal hard drive. I am going to pick back up with my Pt Reyes photos. I visited Tomales Bay State Park one afternoon and wandered down to the beach. The shoreline was littered with oyster(?) shells that were very blue. As you can see, the waters are crystal clear.

Assignment #3: Impasto Painting

Assignment #3: Impasto Painting

Here is the second part of my third assignment for my online Corel Painter class. It is an impasto painting. For this one, I painted it once and then re-cloned and painted it again. That ’smeared’ it up where I was happier with the look. Next, I blended the original image with Pin Light. That popped the rain droplets. Finally, I did some fiddling in Photoshop with the colors. Whew! I can go to bed now.

Here is the original…

This week, I went away for a few days to Pt Reyes to relax. The first few days involved a lot of napping. Feeling rested, I ventured out for some shooting. As you can see from the shot, there was rain. I was soaked and miserable plus I missed the trail marker and wandered into the horse camp. I did not attempt any photos because everybody looked as unhappy as I felt. I did take this infrared shot of the weeds next to the pasture area. As I was giving up and returning to the car, a few ladies huddled under a canopy said "Are you here to take portraits of miserable people?". Nope, just trying to make art.
